Yannick Bolasie completed his loan move to Anderlecht this afternoon, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The 29-year-old left Everton after it was made clear to him that he had no future at the club. For the first half of this season, the winger was on loan at Aston Villa but he abruptly ended his supposed season-long stay in the West Midlands earlier this month.
Marco Silva, Everton’s Portuguese boss, made it clear to Bolassie that he had no intention of using him this season and the winger who joined the Toffees in a £25m switch from Crystal Palace, was left hoping for interest from abroad to relieve him of his misery.
The DR of Congo international was relieved when Anderlecht made their move for him today. Bolasie helped progress the move through this afternoon and now spends the remainder of the season with the Purple & White in Belgium’s Juliper Pro League First Division A.
Currently, Anderlecht occupy sixth place which is the final position for the Championship play-offs.
Bolasie suffering a traumatic right anterior cruciate ligament injury during a 1 – 1 draw with Manchester United in December 2016 which kept him out of the game for a year. Despite this, he managed to rack up 299 league appearances in the Premier League and all three English Football League divisions during spells with Barnet, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, Everton and lastly, Aston Villa.
